I am wondering what happens to the knowledge and joy and experience and trivia that is locked up today in comment sections in walled gardens like YouTube, Reddit, etc.
The site that @laze and I made for 13 years (dailyping.com) is still live with all its comments, even the ones where people thought we were Maury Povich's site and also a place to complain about tow trucks. We keep it live because it's not expensive for us. But we don't have shareholders.
(cc @anildash, feels right)
