Miguel Corteguera@thomasfuchs back in the late 80s and 90s things were moving pretty quick in the IT space. You were in the middle of the PC revolution, green screens were being replaced, the Internet was rolling out, etc. I think the expectation was “by the time we get there, this will all be replaced”. I think it all worked out good in the end. Lots of legacy systems were modernized, businesses got productivity out of it, and the IT space made a lot of money.
