- Embed this notice@Hoss Again, it's illegal in many US states to charge people for electricity if you are not the power company so you can't literally bill them for the consumed kWh. You have to treat it as a service where you charge customers based on the amount of time the customer used it.
I know it seems insane but they did this so people wouldn't buy electricity at the fantastic bulk rates -- say 4c/kWh and then sell to others at a discount of e.g., 8c/kWh when the general public would normally be paying 12c/kWh
Yes, the regular people get absolutely fucked on their electricity costs compared to industrial customers.
