GreenSkyOverMe (Monika)@sabret00the Die Zahnbürste is feminine because most words ending in -e are feminine. But usually there is no reason and one has to learn the article with the noun just like the plural.
But I also have thought often that I want a „remind me of the gender of this noun“ option in French.
