     But Duolingo is correct.

     Did you know that verbs ending in '-iren', such as "rasieren" or "inhalieren", are conjugated in the past tense without a leading 'ge-'?

     "Ich habe mich gestern rasiert" is correct,
     "Ich habe mich gestern gerasiert" is wrong,
     "Ich habe mich gestern schnitten" is wrong,
     "Ich habe mich gestern geschnitten" is correct.

     German is such a great and easy language!

     @GreenSkyOverMe up until now, one or two wrong letters have been accepted. This being so unforgiving isn't fun. It's not even useful. It's just frustrating. Also as a long-term user of Duolingo, I would like to see the timer paused and explanations given about such things. I have no idea what the difference between welcher and welche are, nor unserem and unseren, ihrem and ihren. Also, why is a toothbrush female? It's wrong to punish people for small mistakes and not give time to research.

     @sabret00the In answer languages it has sometimes given grammar explanations when making this kind of mistake … I think in Spanish? I don’t remember clearly.

     Welche would be correct for Nominativ and for Akkusativ (direction). In welche Koalition treten sie ein? (Wohin) - In die Koalition, in diese Koalition

     @sabret00the Die Zahnbürste is feminine because most words ending in -e are feminine. But usually there is no reason and one has to learn the article with the noun just like the plural.

     But I also have thought often that I want a „remind me of the gender of this noun“ option in French.

     @sabret00the @bookstardust I agree with Star Dust - outside of learning institutions (and maybe international espionage) it doesn’t matter all that much to get the genders and cases right. Welche, welcher, who cares?

     Getting the verbs right is way more important, if you conjugate verbs wrong or don’t split a splittable verb that would sound really off to native speakers.

     @sabret00the @GreenSkyOverMe i am german and i cannot explain it well either. It's either because of wrong articles or causes. German is a really frustrating language.
     Way more important is that i would have understood those sentences. So even if Duolingo sucks, germans will mostly always try to understand you and mistakes are totally fine.

     But other than that they don’t matter that much. You won’t sound native … so what?
