@Moon @D-Droid @DW2 @RatPoster @porkcow yeah, that's why the bearded fat youtuber screaming about the captain marvel sequel failing as some kind of grand victory for team chud rings hollow, when by all accounts it's just a bad movie. disney is fucking things up by making shitty movies no one wants to see, but i think only the failure of Wish can really be laid at the feet of it being "woke" in any way, since the politics of that actually dictated the terrible writing decisions. but it failed because of those (and other) bad decisions caused by the wokeness, not because the audience rebelled at it for being woke. had it had an actual good, catchy song for it's target audience it probably would have taken off and not failed as bad.
