Dear Dr. Freemo: Women in the U.S.A. often wonder why European countries are able to freely elect women as heads of state and why U.S.A. that champions principles of democracy is unwilling to elect a woman president. I personally really do not care what sex gets elected president as long as that person is able to do the job. What I find to be so interesting is that U.S.A. is so socially backward, U.S.A. has failed to lead the world in expanding the role of women and other minority groups. I do not have a political agenda of electing a woman president, I just find it strange that U.S.A. is so afraid to allow women to occupy top government jobs.
