Ya know... I am a little surprised that our president just 2 presidents ago was the first black man in history to be president... seems that was way late, a little surreal to think that **I**. as young as I am, voted for the first black president.

Paul Brownjohn (paulos_the_fog@qoto.org)'s status on Saturday, 25-Nov-2023 14:13:04 JST Paul Brownjohn Some years ago, I ran a business with friend who was black. I was round his place one night whilst there was a programme about the USA in the 50 and 60 on TV. It occurred to me that, during the time I had known him, there were quite a few places in the southern states of the USA where it would have been, if not unlawful, at least inadvisable for me to go into a bar with my partner for a beer. Maybe there still are.

Free Peoples Free Press (freepeoplesfreepress@qoto.org)'s status on Saturday, 25-Nov-2023 18:03:09 JST Free Peoples Free Press Dear Dr. Freemo: Women in the U.S.A. often wonder why European countries are able to freely elect women as heads of state and why U.S.A. that champions principles of democracy is unwilling to elect a woman president. I personally really do not care what sex gets elected president as long as that person is able to do the job. What I find to be so interesting is that U.S.A. is so socially backward, U.S.A. has failed to lead the world in expanding the role of women and other minority groups. I do not have a political agenda of electing a woman president, I just find it strange that U.S.A. is so afraid to allow women to occupy top government jobs.
Sincerely, Monica Andrews, Editor-in-chief, #FreePeoplesFreePress News
