That's exactly my point:
It is VERY important, a basic and strategic decision, a) which instance you use and b) which platform you use (somewhat included in decision a)).
#Mastodon is by far the biggest user base/platform in the #fediverse, but not the most versatile, even though you can communicate with mostly everyone, some "formats" will be limited to certain platforms.

This is why I highly recommend the website...
