You might not like the culture that large instances being to fedi, and maybe your concerns about concentration have merit, but that's no excuse to be a dick. Graf isn't asking you to donate to his instance; he's asking people to donate to their home one. Graf and Alex are two of the biggest proponents of people self-hosting, and I've seen graf help all kinds of people with setting up their own instance. He actually encourages it for the robustness of the fediverse. I think you owe him an apology.
