@amerika the point of such rituals, it is said, is to awaken mental and emotional pathways by breaking taboos so that your psyche opens up and allows you to perceive new realities and even alter reality.

Many forms of drugs use and erotic feelings (orgasm) can help one achieve altered states of conscious for similar reasons. i suppose even gaming can, but the problem with most of these is that usually the untapped energy is released unwittingly into the designs and machinations of others rather than harnessed by the source person for the accomplishment of their own Will or empowerment.
