I just want to be like their upper echelons in one respect.

To be off the hamster wheel like they are.

They basically manufacturer hamster wheels for the rest of humanity for their glorious purpose, wealth and entertainment.

Like Pete, I just want to be left to my own devices. But failing that, I want to open the door for others to leave the hamster wheel theme park or at least choose their hamster wheels more carefully.

I only desire to have a little control until no one has control over me.

The universe is a big place.

The only reason we should interact with others, imho, is to combat loneliness, incelibacy or to engage in commerce. No one should be forced to be in someone else hamster wheel, be it a religion, a company, whatever…it has to be a choice.
