@ryanhoulihan what do you mean hijacked capitalism? MLK still left a positive change in the world, one that we take for granted today. Even if he was murdered (and he was, by the CIA) that does not change that it worked. It worked. Society was objectively improved by it.
What does worry me is that unionization had such a huge drop after the end of the New Deal. It's slowly climbing back up, though.

You're very pessimistic in society's ability to phase out capitalism. It won't go down without a fight, sure. But in acting like nothing matters unless it's in the service of an eventual revolutionary struggle, you throw out the baby with the bathwater; eg. MORE trans people will die if you concede a national election to Republicans just because you (rightfully) dislike Biden.
