@ryanhoulihan the gains were made by radicals, for example they only listened to MLK because he was the more "moderate" alternative to Malcolm X who they (the establishment) were afraid of. All successful progressive change in the West is the combination of a moderate wing and a radical one to pressure the establishment. Step by step we walk a mile. This isn't revolution.

And while climate change is inevitable and at this point impossible to fully stop in our lifetimes, we will still have an aftermath to work with. Barren, sad, whatever.

If you want to help secure better change for the future, organize with your union, promote forms of parallel power like mutual aid networks, etc etc. Not revolutions. How are you going to guarantee a revolution won't be hijacked by red fash like a modern day Lenin?
