@p Nah, I don't wanna get elected either, but I do believe that software development and haxx0r principles helps all things.
I will give you one small example that hopefully I articulate well.
Namely, version control and diff tools.
In our current society, most normies don't even know what those are, but if they did, they would want them coupled to every contract they sign, every law that is passed and every religious doctrine that is adjusted.
In my small IRL example, it is a little known fact that Jehovah's Witnesses held some unflattering beliefs about Black people some 100 years ago, including the idea that Blacks would become white when resurrected in the New World, or to heavenly life.
See here for the unofficial* online archive dating back to 1880: https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1954407
(*Some diligent JW did this, I don't know who, but it is interesting to note that the official one only goes back to 1950, and even then you can find similarly suggestive talking points e.g. https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&docid=1954407&srctype=wol&srcid=share)
--------
Yet today, these quotes have been swept under the rug, rather than acknowledged. And JW HQ now promotes the use of online and app-based Bibles and publications because - who could have guessed - you can just edit out doctrine and retranslate Bible verses and even change lyrics of Hymns by remote update, without notification of changes nor official discussion about the changes to "archaic facts" (AND they HAVE done this).
Only unavoidably major changes are discussed, and even then...the implications are (IMHO) kept deliberately vague for the unsuspecting folks who are not hawkish to changes or keep offline or versioned controlled copies of things, like myself.
----------------
So to conclude, and to link to the original discussion, we need to build a new society like we build good software.
Any high-information open-sourced(ish) society, where people are super users in their own lives and can be normie users or power users in the public domain if they so choose, but everything from banking to policy to governance to law needs to be rebuilt with integrity from the ground up. I believe system engineering / app development principles can be injected into those areas of society by those thoroughly familiar with them who care about fellow humans at the macroscopic scale.
