The risk of homogenization into dangerous territory would definitely be a thing, but that would depends on civilization cooperating and not crumbling in the inevitable eugenics wars that sprung from this. I am all but certain there are children alive today in multiple countries who are genetically engineered with higher IQs, stamina, etc.
