Not even that, because you guys Imperial Russia had (a reletively small number) of these Fedorov Avtomat. And the only reason people don't consider it the "first" assault rifle is because it shoots 6.5 Arisaka Rifle, and not what is considered an "intermediate" cartridge.
From my understanding the AK was supposed to be classified as a sub machine gun in the mindset of Soviet war doctrine.
