I played all of them extensively. oWoD mechanics were retarded but people worked around them for the setting. nWoD mechanics were less retarded (still flawed) but the setting was basically nonexistent. They were trying to do this Build Your Own Setting thing, this “toolkit” idea, and it was actually pretty cool if you’re actually playing the game. This is because you ended up creating your own NPCs and histories and so on. However, if you’re one of those people who likes to just read the setting exposition from the books, it was absolutely dogshit. It was trash.
