- Embed this notice@sjw @Kerosene Well I don't know for US but here even the idea of actually shutting down 2G is having a hard time, because here you simply do not cut people off from a public service.
A lot of infrastructure including emergency ones relies on 2G, things like road workers, lifts, … are dependent on 2G.
Heck even things like the weird phones grandparents at home would have to call emergency services when they fall down or have an attack are dependent on 2G.
