The issue is fundamentally morale. Tiny segments of the population can way disproportionately impact outcomes if they are moralized; that is, if they think their way is the right way, they can do whatever it is they have to do to get it, and any punishments levied against them for trying are invalid and to be resisted. It’s how jews exert so much influence in spite of being about 2% of the American population. It’s through combining a disgusting degree of clannishness with total moralization. Without both of these factors they’d just be a bullied minority like anybody else.
