Or I don't know a language well or an API. I just write a comment like "// call Mastodon server and get the vote data for the toot as JSON" and BAM, there's the code to do that. 5 seconds vs at least a few minutes for me. I suppose YMMV but I have found it a massive productivity boost and don't understand how others could possibly not.
