If you're self employed, even partially, you start writing everything off. Basically look at what the standard deduction is and if you have a way to earn close to as much on a self employed side gig, you can start itemizing and claim a lot of stuff. I'd joke about just not paying taxes but the IRS has guns and they hire women now, so it's going to be a bad day for a lot of people when they reach for their "taser" because you're closing the door on them.
