@51rH0n3y84d93r @aj @Johncdvorak There are numerous reasons that social security is underfunded, some of them are even also Republicans' fault like cutting payroll taxes and borrowing against it for defense spending with no intention of every paying it back. social security has always been a paygo system with its own funding. there's not actually an obligation for the post office to be self-funding, you could just fund it out of general revenue as a public good. there are good articles online about the retirement artificial shortfall.
