@aral @ajsadauskas I don't really think it was that underhanded or sinister. It's a helpful tool for people to realize their own consumption's impact, and guide them towards products and energy sources that... produce less carbon.
It's easy to say, "oh it's these big energy companies destroying the earth!" but I find it really helpful to see how my own regular little life creates the demand for tons upon tons of CO2 use.
