So, about anonymous email services in general... Does it have to be that anonym? Because every mail you send or receive will potentially end up unencrypted on the other end anyway... Yes its sad that protonmail gave logs to the authorities and therefore it should not be used for serious stuff, but if you wana true anonymization, then mail is the wrong medium imho... For my throwaway accounts is protonmail fine enough and to my knowledge there has to be at least a legal process to take a look at my accounts.

Otherwise how about hosting mails yourself? https://mailinabox.email/ does a good job.
