Drought parches the forest. Forest fires burn hotter and longer. The fire season drags on longer compared to decades ago.
The underlying driving force for these intense devastating wild fires is climate change. Hotter temperatures dry out vegetation. Climate change is a global issue that involves governments, countries, and individuals working together to reduce greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide). It's not like people don't know what to do. It's politics.
Fuel reduction is another factor. That is, clearing out dead brush and dead trees.
