Growing up in Canada, you see and hear about the evidence all around. First nations people are still massively overrepresented in our prisons and foster care systems. I hear people at AA talk about their parents who went to residential schools and were abused, and then continued the abuse at home. I'm so happy every time someone finds a culturally modified tree and they have to cancel whatever the gov had planned for that land and make it a culturally protected site.
