That's not entirely true since Debian 12. Debian now doesn't follow their own software guidelines and makes it extremely inconvenient to download, install and run Debian without ever touching nonfree software. It's a great distribution ruined by the usual OSImp scumbags.
Also yes, Trisquel is a stable distribution (Ubuntu LTS) and so is reliable (rarely crashes or has serious bugs), the problem comes when you require newer software. If Trisquel was based off of Debian this wouldn't be so problematic and Trisquel could fill the void Debian has left since the last years.
