The computer has components, but what program it is running is something entirely else. You don't get to know the state of the abstraction the system has of itself. Scientist think only they get to do abstractions. The immune system is a system, it has memory, feedback and prediction -- a model of itself in itself. Scientist dont' get to understand it, ever.
