No challenge, no actually interesting stories, and other than that it's the same shit over and over again, now complete with DLC, which ruins even catching them all. And that was already a pain in the ass to begin with because of the event legendaries, and then made worse by alternate forms and hidden abilities. New games might as well just be updates to Pokemon Showdown. Even for competitive, there is no reason to use the actual games, they are just a nuisance.

Don't know about the anime, though. I still really like the first three seasons, but the gen 3 anime was bland and pretty boring and I didn't keep up with it after that. I watched some very good episodes of gen 4, and heard that 7 was good, so maybe I could watch it, but other than that nothing. I would rather just rewatch the old episodes from the original writer, or Digimon, which is a completely different thing but people compare the two. It's pointless to watch a show that has no progression at all and is just the same thing over and over again, with characters that are not allowed to grow.

Just play good games instead, games that are actually made to appeal to you and not exclusively for babies that can't even read. Or hacks and fan games. I played gen 1 and 2 this year to do some glitches, but that's all I have done since catching them all in gen 6 because I was just done with it. Other than collecting pictures of the girls, of varying degrees of lewdness. I don't care about the new games at all. I don't even know what the current generation is. Is it 8 or 9? Don't care, most games are old, and always will be, because most things are not made this year, because most years are not this year, because that's how time works.
