It simply wishes to have a sort of national capitalism, where the free market is intact, yet where corporations are not allowed to hijack the national economy on such a scale that it no longer benefits the people.

I am a bit ignorant - what is the best, easiest way to understand distributism..? Is it basically what is mentioned above?
