@yilinwriter BTW, in Japan, many editors and writers ask me which is better for translating works by Japanese translator who can read well or English native translator who can write well.
Because they are lazy not to hope to negotiate with English translators.
My answer is simple translator should be a good writer. Around commercial fiction, it’s not necessary “Native”, but they should be a good write better than original writer.
