hramrach@Sujiyan @nano The 'own your account' concept sort of works for any cryptography based decentralized network. You have your private key that makes it possible to author content in the name of your account, and so long as you get it to the network in any way it is there.
Last attempt in this area I noticed is Secure Scuttlebutt.
Nostr might be in that space as well skipping the p2p part but the community seems very cryptocurrency oriented.
