As much as I love my country, I must agree with you on the most of things... During the pandemic everyone lost their fucking mind. Main narrative was pretty much that if you're not gazillion times vaccinated you are a threat to others. It was damn awful (although not as bad as Australians who have been on 2-week lockdown for consecutive 36 days). Of course with Ukraine war starting the virus mysteriously vanished within two weeks and everyone got pretty quiet about it.
Unfortunately the "putin Bad" propaganda is also very true. I mean I don't think that what is he doing is good but everyone suddenly just fucking LOVES Ukraine and if you dare to speak for example about many fuckups within their army's main command you're instantly called russian troll. Also so-called mainstream media articles about the war are... very enthusiastic to say the least. They sometime sound like if Ukraine was about to not only win the war within hours but then conquer whole Russia xD. When Germans attacked Poland in 1939 whole narrative in Polish newspapers was pretty similar- like if we were to beat Gremans in no time. No need to say: it went a liitle different and although we had some great, heroic achievements at that time, eventally we were obliterated.
Polish government is no different than any other - incompetent, greedy, dumb and with some CCP-like aspirations. No matter if left or right is currently at power it all stays the same.
Poland is often portrayed as based because of it supposedly being conservative and with some traditional values. That's true in comparison to western Europe or the USA but lemme tell you, the decay started here as well, it just hasn't spread that far yet (hopefully it won't).
BUT poles truly have some potential in them to become based. They sometimes are VERY stubborn and many still have that beautiful mentality of generally not giving a fuck about many dumb artificial laws and prohibitions produced by the government and doing whatever they want anyway. It's hard to explain but for example: if in some of western EU countries you have a speed limit of 60 km/h the people there will generally drive below that limit because "it's bad to drive faster because it's against the law". In Poland it's more like: "LMAO don't look at that , drive however you want and just don't get caught"
