@simsa02 @JamesGleick Sorry Simsa02 but that's simply untrue. To use the Fediverse you need to follow the rules of your instance. That's it. Just like you need to follow the rules of Reddit to use Reddit or the rules of Facebook to use Facebook. The Fediverse doesn't complicate the matter in any way.

A user doesn't have to give a flying fuck about the rules on other federated instances, that's between your instance admin and other instance admins to worry about.
