i had to argue for an exemption that never came. 35 years of employment was worth nothing to those officiously bureaucratic vogans - it's policy and i was in breech of their code of conduct that required me to obey any reasonable order.

but what if i was wrong? how stupid would i look if i got sick and was hospitalized or died?

this motivated me to look at statistics and age-death rates and comorbidities. i had in-laws expecting me to get sick and die
