@i @coolboymew square is still around, it's a japanese companies, nintendo is still happy to work with other companies just not on "mainline" games (i.e. namco still makes mario kart arcade series) so it's far from being a wonder, given that square/enix are still around and being japanese company they can negotiate with nintendo, and mario rpg isn't "mainline"
