@Andrewhinton I liked it but it seems that the latest series have veered heavily away from the whole "The Federation has solved major problems like poverty and internal wars, etc." A comment I made during the last Picard season when they were operating in drug infested slums where people were warming themselves by garbage can fires etc. was, "I think they are going for more of the Star Wars dystopia feel than Roddenberry's original approaching utopia feel."
