My only guess is shortsightedness combined with blind hatred of anyone with money at all. Marxist types really baffle me, I've had them call me "the worst conservative ever" after I said we should take money from billionaires to pay for social services instead of taking over half the income of people who make $100k a year.

I guess they just really hate successful people that they thing society should be structured around spiting them
