My main conclusion from reading "Prisoners of Geography", a worthwhile read, was that it was the author's view most of the world's great political problems are rooted in some act of hubris by an English aristocrat with a map, a grease pencil, an no real concern for consequences on anyone who was not an English aristocrat.
