Exactly. Drives down their overhead, especially having to insure so many delivery trucks, tractor-trailers, trains, planes, and so on. I think any of the 'spying on employees' applications are secondary to the $$$

Until all of this is fully automated, idk if Amazon could even fully abuse this system. There's only so much work force willing to work for them as it is, and they require a lot worldwide. They can't keep afloat with rapid turnover by willy-nilly firing everyone over chin scratches and the like.
