I think this has way more to do with preventing insurance fraud. Amazon, one of the world's largest companies, has trucks on practically every road. So are insurance fraud scammers. They see Amazon, think they can sue tf out of them, and pull some bullshit for a giant fucking check.

While there are obvious Skynet applications to this set up, I think it has more to do with Amazon lawyers saying 'No, you have no lawsuit. Look at all our safety protocols. Our driver was following the law.' etc etc
