Divorce had recently been voted to be legal here in ireland but was still going through stages to make it into law in very strict Catholic Ireland. I got up the courage to leave, jumped on a train to Dublin & stayed with a friend. I'd 40 Irish pounds to my name which the ticket took. Didn't even have enough to get a taxi to their place.
