But one company can't compete with the rest of the world over everything, so the best he can hope for is to build a walled garden with no exits. Lock all the customers inside, then charge them for everything you can fold into that system. He's betting that the value provided by extreme centralization will defeat, well, basically all we know of economics let alone psychology.
