@evan I think there's a difference. Programming a computer takes time and effort, whereas drinking clean water doesn't. Clean water is something that society should provide to everyone, whereas programming is a skill that people choose to develop.

Should people be allowed to program computers? Absolutely. Should they be forced to program computers in order to function in society? No.
