@forteller If it's just a 2D top-view plan, then any vector graphics software should work? I would use Inkscape (or maybe even FontForge if I had much more recent experience with it).

It would need boxes for areas with electrical outlets and anything else that might lead to vertical issues. For a kitchen with wall-mounted furniture a 3D view (or multiple projections) might be necessary.
