@rasmusfleischer Sovereigntism, or "souverainisme," has been a concept in mainstream French political debate since the 1990s at least. On the left it refers to the attempt to assert democratic control over the national political economy, in the face of transnational forcess of various sorts (big corporations, EU, etc). Although the concept is increasingly used by and identified with nationalist right-wing groups, I reckon we all ignore it at our peril. Sovereigntism can clearly turn into fascism. But it is, at least to some degree, a return of the repressed - where what has been repressed is simply democracy.
