- Embed this notice@wgiwf @BowsacNoodle There's no faster way to kill a love of reading than to force it. I loved reading as a kid; devoured piles of books – plenty of children's lit among it. But when something was truly crap, or boring, or I just didn't like it, my parents encouraged me to just put it down and find something else I did like. If it was actually good, then it was better to re-find it when I was ready, and if it was truly bad then I'd dodged a bullet. They talked to me about what I was reading, too, from novels to nonfiction to comics. Such are the foundations of taste.
