That's a lie. Corelocks are not designed for maximum penetration. Literally the opposite. They are designed to mushroom and deposit all of their energy into the target.

And, the only explanation I've seen about the sonic rifle crack is the suggestion that the mic, which many say is what exploded, amplified the explosion while blowing up, to create what people thought was a sonic crack. But you won't see this recreated because it's total nonsense.
