(I'm a former Pirate Party activist/politician so this is something I've spent quite some time ruminating over)

I'd love it if Proton just said "fascists fuck off our services". However. Trying to _police_ that would mean that their services weren't privacy protecting.

Instead they're saying "we're going to protect everyone's privacy as far as the law allows us to" - which is fair. It's exactly the same thing I'm saying to the users that sign up to my Matrix server.
